Life's Been Wild Lately... Here's What's Keeping me Grounded

If you’ve felt like your summer is all over the place… you’re not alone.

This season hasn’t looked like I expected. I started off the year with a totaled car (not my fault). Then, three months ago, my fiancé Russel got hit in the eye with a hockey puck during a game. Which led to emergency surgery at a hospital 3 hours away, a second surgery and multiple trips back for check-ups, and a long recovery process. And now, someone very close to us has been diagnosed with cancer. It's been scary, exhausting, and disorienting.

And in the middle of that chaos?

We’re also planning a wedding. Running businesses. Trying to keep the kids’ schedules straight. Managing summer adventures and curveballs. Planning something big for One Life in August. And honestly? Just trying to stay aflo

at most days.

So if your own life feels messy, unpredictable, or totally off-routine — I see you. And I want to offer a few simple things that have helped me keep some rhythm when everything feels out of control.

💡 3 Things Helping Me Stay Grounded This Season:

1. Anchor your day with one non-negotiable: Mine is movement. Whether it’s 20 minutes in the gym, a walk outside, or even a short mobility session — that time helps me reset and reconnect with myself.

2. Prioritize protein + water to start my day: Even when I’m grabbing breakfast on the fly or I try to get in quality protein first thing and a big glass of water before my coffee. It’s not perfect, but it makes a big difference in how I feel.

3. Plan my week every Sunday: This is my sanity saver. Ten minutes of time-blocking and review — helps me start my week feeling more grounded and prepared.

None of this is about perfection. I’ve let a lot go this summer — and I’m okay with that. But keeping a little rhythm (not routine) has helped me feel more like me in the midst of the chaos. So, if you’re in a season of transition, overwhelm, or just “too much,” maybe try anchoring your days with just one thing. You don’t have to do it all — just take one step forward each day.

I’m cheering for you. And I’ll share more soon about what I’ve got coming in August.
